Christie Brinkley with daughter Alexa Joel

Arriving with her daughter at the 12th annual Heart of the Hamptons event held at the Hayground School in Bridge-hamp-ton, Christie Brinkley looked beautiful and happy, even in the face of her ongoing trial with her soon-to-be-divorced-from hubby, Peter Cook. The timeless beauty was honored with the Humanitarian with Heart Award; Dottie Herman, President and CEO of Prudential Douglas Elliman, was presented with the Dis-tinguished Community Leadership Award; and Michael Wolk and Robert McMahon also received honors.

After the ceremony, in which all honorees spoke eloquently about the need to build healthier lives, the 550 guests enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by Starr Boggs. Guests then had the opportunity to take a chance with Lady Luck in the newly-added casino and bid in silent and live auctions. The event, orchestrated flawlessly by emcee Chuck Scarborough, raised nearly $650,000 for the American Heart Association’s Focus on Children’s Health.

Although her own has recently been hurt, Brinkley has done a laudable job of preventing future broken hearts.
