What’s at the heart of women? The answer was unveiled to an A-list crowd at the Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, where Dr. Mehmet Oz, renowned cardiovascular heart surgeon (and Oprah’s favorite!), was honored for excellence in his field.

Joy Behar played host for the Events of the Heart evening, where guests in-cluding Campbell Brown, Geraldo Rivera, Jodi Applegate, Darlene Rodriguez, Cicely Tyson, Serena Altschul, Rocco DiSpirito, and Lara Spencer enjoyed entertaining readings on the subject of heart disease by Marcia Gay Harden, Bob Balaban, Sherri Shepherd, Judy Gold, Brenda Strong, Cady Huffman, Holland Taylor, and Lynn Whitfield.

Heart disease is the number-one killer of women. Over $1 mil was raised for the evening’s mission.
