Life just keeps getting more sugary for Sweet 'N Low CEO Donald Tober, who celebrated his 75th birthday with his wife, Barbara (former editor-in-chief of Brides magazine and currently a driving force behind the Museum of Arts & Design) and 400 of their nearest and dearest at the always-chic Cipriani 42nd Street. The illustrious New York power couple, who have been married for 33 years, hosted an over-the-top black-tie affair with cocktails, dinner, and dancing.
The evening also featured a slideshow movie tribute-starring none other than the birthday boy-which gave an extra glimpse into the real Donald, showcasing his hobbies (swimming and music) and including photos of his family and himself as a young man. Toasts were given by Barbara, and Scott Odell, Donald's business partner for more than three decades. During his own address to the crowd, Donald recalled having a small gathering for a handful of friends after he and Barbara were first married and remarked that now, years later, he is grateful to be surrounded by so many loving companions.
Birthday toasters included: Beth Rudin DeWoody, Marjorie Reed Gordon, Anne Whitehead, Daniel Aubry, Sharon Handler and Ambassador John Loeb, April and Roddy Gow, Arthur Backal, Warrie Price, Paul and Daisy Soros, and Ninah and Michael Lynne.
As a fond farewell, present company departed with two delicious gift bags, one containing a chocolate piano and another packed with granola for the following morning's breakfast.
The Hampton Sheet wishes Donald many more healthy and Happy B-Days!
