Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore, Lindsay Lohan, Elizabeth Hurley. No, it's not the newest refrain of Madonna's "Vogue." These were just a few of the countless luminaries on hand for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's legendary Costume Institute Gala. The annual black-tie dinner and dance celebrated the new exhibition AngloMania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion (on view through September 4).
The red carpet was exploding with star power as modern-day icons posed for the paparazzi in everything from tartans to tulle! The highly anticipated show, sponsored by Burberry, features an eclectic display of contemporary Brit fashions from 1976 to the present. Chic starlet Sienna Miller (Jude Law's on-again-off-again) along with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (think she'll be lining up to see The Devil Wears Prada?), and Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey co-chaired the event.
The museum-aptly decorated to emulate the English and Scottish countryside-set the scene as guests enjoyed fine cuisine by Glorious Food, an exclusive look at the exhibit, a special performance from the London stage production of Billy Elliot, and a brief presentation by the School of American Ballet's younger dancers.
Dressed to impress: Donald and Melania Trump, Giorgio Armani, Manolo Blahnik, Angie Harmon, Amy Fine Collins, Chloë Sevigny, Ivanka Trump, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Harry Connick Jr., Gisele Bündchen, Charlize Theron, Alexander McQueen, Molly Sims, Petra Nemcova, Marcia Gay Harden, Richard Gere, Ralph Fiennes, and Emmy Rossum.
