The Jazz Age has returned to NYC-complete with flappers in fringe skirts and free-flowing champagne-at the Roaring 20th Annual Women of Achievement Gala at Cipriani 23rd Street. The event benefited the Women's Project, "the nation's paramount theatre for developing and producing women theatre artists," and honored five women of exceptional achievement in varied fields who have been an inspiration to all. Receiving the Lalique Crystal awards: Mariska Hargitay, Golden Globe winner for her role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Frances Sternhagen, star of Broadway's Steel Magnolias (and Tony Award winner for The Good Doctor); Emily Mann, artistic director of the McCarter Theatre, Tony-nominated Broadway director (of Having Our Say, 1995), and Broadway playwright/director (of Execution of Justice, 1986); beauty-industry icon Adrien Arpel; and Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the comedy club Carolines on Broadway. Presenters included: Mario Cantone, George Grizzard, and Linda Fairstein.

The evening's honorary chair and host was the always-entertaining Broadway star Donna Murphy. Also in the mix: Co-chairs Lucia Hwong Gordon, Annette Green, Andrea Stark, L. Marilyn Crawford, Tina Chen, Nurit Kahane Haase, Michele Herbert, and Sheila Rosenblum; Rick Friedberg and Francine LeFrak; Gary and Colleen Rein; Michelle Rella; Judith Ripka; Nancy Corzine; Richard Soloway; Robin Strasser; and Denise Rich. Dame Donna Soloway chaired the silent auction.
