Joan Jedell makes entrance with “Get the Party Started” by Shirley Bassey

Hampton Sheet publisher Joan Jedell threw herself a birthday dinner at Nello on Madison Avenue. Jedell transformed herself into the evening’s entertainment with an extravagant entrance, lip-synching to Shirley Bassey’s rendition of “Get the Party Started.” Nello Balan, who recently opened another hot spot in St. Tropez, joined in the festivities along with dinner guests RFR’s Richard Farley, LaSeven’s Paola Garzoni, shoe designer Beverly Feldman, Cynthia Maltese, Lisa Solomon, John and Margo Catsimatidis, power attorney Karen Alinauskis, Noel Hernandez, head of publicity at Sony Pictures Gigi Semone, NY Post’s Phil Mushnick, and Mariebelle Lieberman, who donated the yummy MarieBelle chocolates for each guest. Also in attendance were Scott Weiner and Sheri Jedell with five-year old daughter Emily, who performed two numbers from Mama Mia (could be a shoo-in for the Broadway stage).

Also on hand were money-manager Ken Starr and his wife Diane Passage. Starr, soon after, was held without bail in connection with a $59 mil Ponzi scheme. Guests were shocked when the news was reported but hey, as Cindy Adams always says, “If you’re indicted, you’re invited.”
