Dancing Queens Louise Pitre, Judy Kaye, and Karen Mason kicked up their heels on opening night of Mamma Mia!, the much-touted musical based on songs by the Swedish retro pop-rock group ABBA. The story of a single mom and her 18-year-old daughter is woven into a seamless songfest of 22 ABBA hits, and the show’s nonstop energy has the audience dancing in the aisles. Mamma Mia! also seems to have inspired fashion runways—ABBA-era styles like peasant blouses and flared jeans are back this fall, in collections from designers like Shoshanna Lonstein and Jessica McClintock. The after-party at Bryant Park Grill was also a smash hit. Mamma Mia!
