Yipeee’s Karen Di Peri, Bill Boggs, Marcus Samuelsson

Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, human rights activist Koigi Wamwere and wife Jane Koigi joined honoree Kathleen Dore, Bill Boggs, and Aquavit’s chef Marcus Samuelsson at Theatreworks’ 40th anniversary celebration at the Altman Building, planned and coordinated by Yipeee Event Planners Karen and Michael Di Peri. Wamwere, a native Kenyan currently researching ethnic conflicts at Columbia University, had this to say: “September 11 was a sign that this wasn’t the end of life—the terrorists did not succeed. This was a testament to God that they can destroy the towers, but they can’t destroy freedom.” His wife Jane chimed in: “People shouldn’t be broken by this, but should go on. Don’t let the enemy win by becoming consumed with it.”
